Bundestag President Bärbel Bas will take part in the meeting of the German-speaking Speakers of Parliament in Vaduz on August 25 and 26, 2022. Topics of the talks include the role of parliaments in the COVID-19 pandemic and citizen participation in democratic societies.
The speakers of the parliaments of Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the German-speaking community of Belgium come together for this annual conference. The format of this meeting was brought to life by Norbert Lammert in 2016 as the then President of the Bundestag. After the pandemic-related break since 2020, the exchange is now being continued.
