The DFB and national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg will end their collaboration with immediate effect. This is the result of a joint meeting last Friday, which was approved by the shareholders‘ meeting and the supervisory board of DFB GmbH & Co KG in a meeting this Saturday.
The conversation on Friday took place in a trusting atmosphere. After a detailed analysis of the disappointing performance of the women’s national team at the last World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, there was agreement that the team needed a fresh start in terms of sporting leadership.
DFB President Bernd Neuendorf: “On behalf of the DFB and also personally, I would like to thank Martina Voss-Tecklenburg for her cooperation over the past few years. During this time, important impulses were given in the area of women’s football. The national team’s entry into the final of the 2022 European Championships in England has given women’s and girls‘ football an enormous boost. This success is and remains linked to Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. We wish Martina Voss-Tecklenburg all the best personally and sportingly.”
